the greed gene

There is now enough evidence to prove the 'greed gene.'

The final piece in the jigsaw is the actions of Jacqui Smith who, whilst submitting her expense form, still managed to claim for two £5 adult films, and similar paltry amounts for two viewings of Ocean 13 and Surfs Up - a drop in the ocean of the average annual £144,000 claim made by Members of Parliament (and indeed her £24,000pa claim for using her sister's back bedroom).

At the time she didn't bother to check what the hell it was for, this leads me to believe that the prime objective was to claim for everything she possibly could.

Surely the time has come to eliminate all the carriers of this gene that is fundamentally destructive to humanity.

Fuck off Biden, you lot are finished

US Vice President, Joe Biden, wants protestors to give the G20 chance to tackle the economic crisis.

Does he think we're as puddled as he, and his ilk, are?

Why on Earth would we entrust the idiots who have presided over an unsustainable economic system to patch it up at our expense so that we can be further exploited by the wealthy and powerful?

Go fuck yourself Biden........it's time for change.

riot, don't you know we're middle class?

Even the Torygraph agrees, the middle class are the problem. They are a stumbling block to radical change, and even when protesting still provide a buffer zone that protects the rich and powerful.

As Class War says,
Working Class people must take responsibility for their progressive revolutionary politics - fly by night middle class radicals have been the bane of our movement for as long as the Working Class has existed.

put people first

I'm sorry to miss this, but all the same wonder what effect it will have. The declared objective,
Our future depends on creating an economy based on fair distribution of wealth, decent jobs for all and a low-carbon future. There can be no going back to business as usual
seems fair enough, but will a controlled march followed by the same old turgid speeches, made by the same old turgid speakers achieve anything?

Brenden Barber, that well known capitalist collaborator, says,
Never before has such a wide coalition come together with such a clear message for world leaders. It is the largest gathering in the capital since the Stop the War march against the 2003 invasion of Iraq
If the last 6 year's efforts of the StWC are anything to go by, nobody will listen, and the whole process will be repeated ad infinitum with ever decreasing numbers attending each time - and all to zero effect.

Sorry for being so pessimistic, perhaps something a little more effective will occur in the coming week/s.

bankers trembling behind their bonus barricades

Advice to bankers has been given by security experts hoping to cash in on their fear.
Leave the flash car at home, spend the night in a hotel, hire a bodyguard.
It would be much better if the greedy bastard bankers emptied their own bank accounts, sold their mansions and expensive cars, and reimbursed the taxpayers who they continue to fleece.

reform of the monarchy

Apparently old Slack Jaw and Lizzie Saxe-Coburg Gotha have been discussing reform of the monarchy.

Personally I think lengthy debate on the issue unnecessary, since a perfect model for a modern monarchy is already firmly established.

Yes, you've guessed it, the Romanovs 1918.

miliband's iraq inquiry

EXCLUSIVE:

Here's the verdict;

Although no WMDs were found, several cans of WD-40 were found in a local garage - that's near enough.

Therefore the war was justified.

insurance company bastards

Last year I changed my home insurance to Directline and got what I thought was a good price. Today I received my automatic renewal notice, the quoted premium was twice what I paid last year! I thought there must be some mistake, since I'd not made a claim, so I rang them to enquire. The response I got was like the Nationwide advert that Mark Benton appears in 'reeling them in.'

Directline's 'customer services manager' said,
You insured with us online last year and so got the the online discounts and new customer discounts. But this is the first renewal so you lose all those.
So I said,
But the annual premium has doubled!
He said,
Do you want to speak to one of our customer loyalty managers?
I said,
No, and don't renew my policy.
He said,
I don't blame you.
Fuck me.

straw's list of duties

Straw's proposals for a Bill of Rights seem to be nothing more than a list of 'citizenship' obligations.
• Obeying the law, reporting crimes and co-operating with prosecution agencies

• Paying taxes

• Participating in civic society through voting and jury service

• Living within our environmental limits: this might refer to agreed UK principles of sustainable development and to the existing statutory provisions for access to information, public participation

fuel poverty bill (reprise)

Not one of Doncaster's four MPs could be bothered to vote for the Fuel Poverty Bill on Friday afternoon, voting list here.

Just 11 more votes would have seen it passed.

The measures outlined in the Bill, could have reduced the average annual energy bill by 52 per cent, from £1,272 to £610, and thereby taken many of the 5.5 million out of fuel poverty.

Please feel free to contact your MP and let them know that an early Friday finish, to get a long weekend at home, is not preferable to helping those struggling to pay their fuel bills, nor is it representing the needs of their constituents.

max clifford's cash cow snuffs it......

why all the fuss?

EDIT: Just to make this clear - Jade's personal circumstances are tragic i.e. a young woman with two kids dying at a very early age, but the media moneymaking circus and the Princess Di like outpouring of phoney group grief that is being expressed is bemusing. Many people die in tragic circumstances but there is not the same hoo-haa as in this case of a 'media' celebrity.

they're all at it

Snout in the Trough McNulty

First it's Jacqui Smith, now it's Tony McNulty claiming for second homes that actually belong to family members. His excuse is that he wasn't breaking any parliamentary rules, but he was milking the system for all he could get.

McNulty claimed up to £14,000 a year for his parents' house in his constituency in Harrow, North London, 11 miles from Westminster even though his main home is just three miles from Parliament.

Let's hope that this Employment Minister is soon an added unemployment statistic.

UK population must be culled....

...according to Gordon Brown's eco-toff advisor Jonathon Porritt.

Porritt suggests that the UK population must be cut to 30m - half the current population. He goes on to say,
Population growth, plus economic growth, is putting the world under terrible pressure.

Each person in Britain has far more impact on the environment than those in developing countries so cutting our population is one way to reduce that impact.
Here's my solution;

'Voluntary' euthanasia, firstly for the concerned tree hugging eco-toffs (starting with the Porritts, then the Monbiots, and the Omonds and Deens of this world - the vanguard to the last), then the the rich, and the wealthy blood sucking financier twats, followed by the political classes, then the middle class.

What a wonderful world it would leave for us to live in.

bnp cop sacked

As reported here Pc Steve Bettley has been sacked from Merseyside Police Force because he had "knowingly been a member of the BNP".
Simon Darby, national press officer for the BNP, said Mr Bettley's sacking was "deplorable" and a "disgusting thing to happen".

"We are well on the way to being a totalitarian state," he added.
Well Darby you twat, one thing is for certain, we would definitely be in a totalitarian state if you thick fascist bastards ever got in power.

However I find it astonishing that more of the filth aren't members. The way cops behave you'd think that they would be a fash recruiters dream.

fuel poverty bill

There are currently 5.5 million households living in “fuel poverty”, i.e. where one tenth or more of income goes on gas and electricity bills.

But the Fuel Poverty Bill has been thrown out of parliament because not enough MPs could be bothered to vote.

In its second reading in the House of Commons this afternoon, it received 89 votes for and two votes against - but needed 100 votes to get through.

The poor turn-out in the Commons was because most MPs return home to their constituencies on Friday afternoon.

A quiet, relaxing weekend at home is obviously more appealing to these twats than attempting to give those who are struggling to make ends meet a fairer crack of the whip.

Hope you bastards choked on your aperitifs.

G20 and all that

According to the Times,
More than 1,000 anti-capitalist demonstrators plan to converge on the Bank of England and will be met in the streets of the Square Mile by 2,500 uniformed police many equipped with riot gear
I don't now where the cop bastards will find the pride to carry out their inevitably brutal operations to protect the wealthy fuckers who bring ruin onto the rest of us.

But I suppose they will claim that they were just obeying orders.

solving the housing crisis

This problem maybe forgotten by the wealthy sods who are more concerned with preserving their bonuses than getting a roof over their heads, but there is still a chronic affordable housing shortage in this country.

Perhaps this sort of information could help - i.e. a list of each council's empty properties.

Alex Riley did a piece on housng last year, and included Class War's picket of Foxtons Estate Agents, some stuff here where he came up with the Norfolk & Holmes Estate Agency.

Many public bodies, including Shelter, espouse new builds to solve the problem, but it is plainly obvious that empty properties, and second 'homes,' are so plentiful that the housing shortage could be solved at a stroke - if they were made available to those that need them.

quotes from mayor winter

May 2005,
I believe having an elected Mayor is someone who is genuinely powerful (locally), visible, and most importantly, personally accountable. The people of Doncaster know that I am accountable for everything. If anything goes wrong it's my fault (even if I didn't know about it).
March 2009,
I have to take some level of responsibility for where we are. Issues were not brought to mine and the councillors' attention..I do not think my behaviour contributes in any way to the situation..If I thought had done anything wrong I would apologise.
Winter you are a squirming twat, fucking do one.

Scargill slams past union leaders' 'treachery'

Reprint from here.
NATIONAL Union of Mineworkers honorary president Arthur Scargill denounced "treacherous" labour movement leaders on Saturday for failing to support the 1984-5 miners' strike.

Speaking at the annual memorial meeting for David Jones and Joe Green - the two miners killed during the year-long strike - Mr Scargill heaped scorn on the then Labour leader Neil Kinnock.

Denouncing Mr Kinnock's "collaboration with British Coal bosses in their attempt to smuggle coal into steelworks in south Wales to break the strike," Mr Scargill, who was arrested and jailed for his picket-line defiance of police attacks on his union members, also lambasted "those union leaders who refused to back us.

"Their failure to support the miners is the same as crossing a picket line," he stormed.

"But not crossing a workers' picket line is the eleventh commandment of our movement - trade unionists do not do it!"

The scene at the NUM's old council hall in Barnsley, bedecked with bright union banners and packed with hundreds of defiant miners, was in stark contrast to the dour sight of half-demolished steel forges and shuttered metal-cutting workshops that now litter the surrounding south Yorkshire countryside.

Beneath proud banners proclaiming "Not Thyself, But The Cause," and "Learn from the past," Mr Scargill regaled the meeting with anecdotes from his encounters with the authorities during the strike.

He related how, with the former Tory prime minister Margaret Thatcher threatening to seize the NUM's funds, a barrister acting for the government had failed to grasp the union's response.

"Why do you request donations to the strike fund in cash? Don't you know that this makes it more difficult for the courts to sequestrate it?" Mr Scargill quoted him complaining.

"'Blow me, I never thought of that,' was my reply."

But Mr Scargill also highlighted the sobering effects of what he called "the treachery of those in the labour movement who did not stand with us during the strike.

"Some 20,000 miners were injured, 13,000 arrested and more than 1,000 lost their jobs. Entire communities were devastated," he explained.

NUM president Ian Lavery emphasised that, "despite the collaboration with the bosses of some union leaders, most workers know what a union means and backed us.

"We are proud that we fought, because this was not just the miners' fight, but a fight for our class."

BNP member attacked with hammer

As reported here.

Violence broke out as 30 people surrounded a BNP vehicle outside the Ellesmere Pub in St Helens Road in Leigh on Friday evening, said police.

Tony Ward, 48, was hit with a hammer and later treated in hospital.
Result.

comic relief record

Comic Relief raised over £57million last night, and another £20million is expected to be added to the total in the coming days and weeks.

This represents great generosity from the public, particularly in hard times.

Gordon Brown said the money raised would make a "real difference".

Yes it probably will, but how much more could have been done if he channeled at least some of the tens of £billions of bank bailout money to relieve child poverty instead of it being used to fund bonuses and £multi-million pension schemes for failed financiers.

It also seems truly strange to me that the rich and famous fall over themselves to appear on a TV programme to, in effect, pass the begging bowl around for the working class to fill. Instead they should use their 'influence' to access wealthy bastards, who will never watch a programme like Comic Relief, and get them to cough up.

And if they need to know where to go, I suggest consulting the Forbes Rich List.

still smiling......

.....the grinning goon refuses to fuck off until his term of office expires, despite the fact that the Government have axed his children services department.
...using powers in the Education Act 1996, the children's minister has today written to the council giving them a formal direction:

-to immediately appoint Mr Tony Elson to chair an independent improvement board, which will report directly to ministers;

-to submit an improvement plan to be approved by the new board;

-and to require the council to co-operate with my department to bring in a new senior management team to take over the leadership and management of Doncaster children's services as soon as practicable.
Winter said,
If I thought my behaviour had in anyway contributed to the deaths [of the children failed by social services] I would have no bones about resigning and apologising. I do not believe this is the case.
I thought the elected mayoral system was all about establishing leadership and accountability, so why won't Winter accept responsibility for his lack of leadership in social care for children.

It seems he is more than happy to to wield his power and authority and collect his inflated pay cheque, but somehow is unable to deal with accountability - unless, of course, it's praise not condemnation that is being dished out.

Winter's two terms of office have been an unmitigated disaster for the council and Doncaster itself.

tip of the iceberg

According to figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act more than a thousand serving police officers have criminal convictions ranging from assault to burglary.
The data, obtained by the Liberal Democrats, showed 1,063 officers had criminal records, including 59 for assault, three for burglary and 93 for dishonesty.

A further 210 officers had resigned or been dismissed from their jobs since 2004 because of their convictions.

Chris Huhne said, "I can't see how an officer convicted of dishonesty can perform duties effectively. Any prosecutor would be reluctant to call them as a witness for fear of being taken apart by the defence."
Quite.

And to make matters worse, this is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

Cops are well known for closing ranks and protecting their own, and turning a blind eye to their colleagues dubious indiscretions - particular when they use undue violence.

How many cops have been convicted of murder or even manslaughter for the hundreds of people who have died during or following police contact?

EDIT: Oh I forgot to provide the answer.........it's, NONE.

25 years on IV

I have just calmed down after watching BBC4's 'The Miner's Strike.' Very emotive, I live about two miles away from Hatfield Main pit, I can see the pithead gear from my bedroom window.

I hope Thatcher, Ingham, Kinnock, scabs and every fucking copper who was involved in the Miners Strike, have agonising deaths - fuck the lot of them. With particular attention for Terry Staglis, and Insp Steve Clarke - they should be skinned alive.

teaching workers how to spot suspicious activity is a “novel way to help involve community members in crime fighting”
However, as one commentator apppropriately said,
How about fat lardy police officers get their arses out on the street instead...
Unfortunately pies and kebabs have a higher priority for our 'officers of the law.'

middle class wanker chucks green custard on twat

There has been much glee in some quarters at Mandelson getting 'slimed' with Leila Deen's 'Plane Stupid' green custard, and I must admit that seeing the fopish fucker momentarily distressed was amusing.

And the target this time was an appropriate one.

However it must be remembered that Plane Stupid is made up of a bunch of eco-poshos, funded by the wealthy, who normally don't bat an eyelid at disrupting air ambulances, or working class peoples' holiday plans by their antics.

It is also significant that well-to-do Deen didn't get arrested. I wonder what would have happened had I carried out the 'attack' - face down on the floor, knee on my neck, arms up my back and cuffed I imagine - but of course she is of the same class as our political elite.

25 years on III

I spent alot of time with my granddad, aka commie Tommy, when I was a child, and also lived with him when I was 30. Throughout the whole of this time he regaled me with stories of the 1921 and 1926 miners strikes, and battles he'd had with police and troops.

When the 1984/85 strike began, he was sleeping at my mum's in Carcroft. Bullcroft pit had gone, but the NCB workshops were still there, and so were picketed.

Old Tommy, wishing to relive his youth, went down to the pickets every night to lend his 'support.'

His presence nearly cracked the solidarity of the pickets though.

I received pleading requests from my mates who were on picket duty to tell him that there was no need for him to go down every evening. Apparently he filled their cabin with pipe smoke, drank all the tea and ate all the biscuits whilst regurgitating the same old tales of previous strikes he'd been involved in.....but his heart was in the right place.

However, a couple of years before, he caused a stir in the family by supporting Thatcher in the Falklands conflict. It seemed to be the lesser of two evils, to him the 'Argies' were obviously fascists. Even as a grizzled old octogenarian he hadn't yet grasped what a twat Thatcher was, but he soon learnt.

25 years on II

Meredydd 'yes I am Stirling Moss' Hughes wants to increase council tax to provide more police, but we remember - particularly the sentiment of the placard bottom right.

And as I've said elsewhere,
The average police officer spends around 14% of their time on patrol, and around 20–30% of their time completing paperwork.

Well that only adds up to a maximum of 44% of a cops time being accounted for.

So what the hell do they do for the other 56% of the time?
These lazy fuckers need to conduct policing in an acceptable manner, not look for us to pay more dosh, i.e. policing by the community with the consent of that community.

Instead we get a bunch of prejudiced (against the working class) arrogant fuckers, who if paid on performance would owe us money.

asleep on the job

and culpable for the failings of Doncaster Council's Children's Services.

Council was warned children would die
Council bosses in Doncaster were warned four years ago that their actions were putting children's lives at risk. The council, which last year had double the national average number of children on its protection register, is currently under investigation following the deaths of seven children in the area.
Twice the number of children on the child protection register, but almost a quarter of those had not been allocated a social worker.

Winter you are not fit for purpose, so fuck off now, and take the overpaid senior managers you appointed with you - you bunch of twats are a disgrace.

25 years on

On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the miners' strike, Bernard Ingham, Thatcher's love-bitch, has the audacity to say,
Hang your head in shame Scargill. You are an absolute disgrace to Yorkshire and you're an absolute ruin of the miners.
What planet is this flabby gobbed, bushy eyebrowed fucker on?

Whatever you may think of Scargill's politics, he has been proved right in his estimation of what Thatcher was trying to do, and he was loyal to the members of the union he represented.

And Ingham has been proven to be a twat.

Ingham loves Thatcher so much that he should be granted a last request, to do a Jame Gumb....

What a pair of utter shites, hurry up and die the pair of you.

can you see the likeness

Both fucking useless

snout in the trough

Greedy lazy bastard Derek Simpson, the joint leader of Unite, uses a £399-a-night hotel suite at the five-star Waldorf Hilton hotel to save a 35-minute journey to his £800,000 grace-and-favour home.

Derek Simpson leaves the Waldorf earlier today to toadie with New Labour.

In a statement Unite said,
"He is the joint leader of a multi-million-pound organisation, in which capacity he represents our members in dealings with employers of all sizes, including leaders of global companies as well as government.

"It would be undermining to his ability to deliver for those members if the union prioritised cheapness of accommodation above appropriate facilities and location as necessary for the particular event."
A Pig talking bollocks.

I wonder if Unite members facing redundancy and long periods of unemployment accept that reasoning.
