A senior police officer who investigated the death of Ian Tomlinson told his family that the officer who struck him at the G20 demonstrations could have been a member of the public "dressed in police uniform"Obviously the dozy cop had not seen all the photographic that is now available, but blood and sand, did he really expect this excuse to have any appearance of validity?
Protest/demo police routinely and arbitrarily batter anyone who takes their fancy, as any senior cop knows.
However, if this excuse had been given any credence, it would have been the perfect defence for all future police assaults.
